Cairo: Awqaf Minister Osama Al-Azhari has emphasized Egypt's pivotal role in promoting the Holy Quran through the "State of Recitation" program, which aims to cultivate a new generation of skilled Quranic reciters.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Al-Azhari, speaking at the 32nd International Holy Quran Competition, explained that the program enhances participants' vocal and linguistic skills through specialized training. This initiative has yielded significant results, including increased participation rates, improved competition performance, and the identification of promising talents who have joined the ministry's advanced training system.
The minister announced plans for an upcoming press conference to discuss the program's achievements and future expansion, including initiatives to support Quranic talent across the nation. He also noted the strong international participation in this year's competition, highlighting the high proficiency levels under the guidance of accredited international judging panels.
Al-Azhari reiterated that the competition complements the "State of Recitation" program as part of a broader effort to foster Quranic excellence both in Egypt and globally. He reaffirmed the ministry's dedication to maintaining Egypt's status as a global center of Quranic scholarship and urged imams and female preachers to continue spreading knowledge and confidence in society.
