Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil engaged in discussions with Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation between their ministries in vocational training, skills development, and youth empowerment. This initiative aims to better prepare young people for the labor market, aligning with national development goals and responding to the demands of both local and regional labor markets.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Youth and Sports headquarters in the New Capital, where the ministers reviewed various programs and initiatives. These programs, implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, include the 'develop and change' initiative, 'employment Egypt' initiative, job search clubs, digital development centers, digital communities, and the 'Meshwary' program. Other initiatives discussed were the Shabab Balad Academy, 'teach me a handcraft' initiative, vocational and technical conversion training programs, and the 'innovative youth' academy.
Nabil emphasized the ministry's commitment to preparing young people for the labor market, reflecting Egypt's vision of investing in human capital. The programs are tailored to equip youth with the necessary skills to thrive in an evolving labor market.
Raddad highlighted the importance of cooperation between the ministries, given their shared goal of developing youth capabilities and supporting Egypt's development efforts. He reviewed the Ministry of Labor's efforts to modernize the vocational training system, align it with labor market needs, and enhance service delivery through digital transformation initiatives.
The Minister proposed areas for enhanced cooperation, such as joint youth training and employment programs, employment fairs across governorates, and increased inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce. He suggested leveraging vocational training centers and youth centers to achieve these objectives and discussed regulating the status of foreign athletes and administrative personnel in sports federations and clubs.
Both ministers agreed to prepare for signing a cooperation protocol focused on implementing joint programs in vocational training, labor market readiness, entrepreneurship, and employment, aiming to maximize resources and create economic opportunities for Egyptian youth.
