Qena: A delegation from the World Food Program (WFP) visited Egypt's Qena governorate to review the impact of development, education, and vocational training projects on improving livelihoods and empowering young people and women. The field visit included projects in the districts of Qus and Qift as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the government and international organizations in supporting rural and community development.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the delegation toured the government services complex in the village of Khazam, where it met local government employees and economic development teams who had completed intensive training programs supported by the WFP. Discussions also covered education and community support mechanisms at a community school in the village of Al-Aqab.
The delegation later visited the vocational training center in Qift, which aims to align training with labor market needs by promoting entrepreneurship and supporting women in tailoring and digital marketing. The center also focuses on expanding programs in computer and mobile phone maintenance, air-conditioning systems, and green economy fields, including waste management. The visitors also toured the center's solar energy workshop.
Trainees expressed their hopes to expand projects based on clean energy technologies. The WFP delegation praised the tangible results achieved on the ground and the effective coordination with local authorities in implementing what it described as a successful development model.
