Cairo: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark asserted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital to offer Christmas greetings represents an authentic national tradition established by the president since 2015. He noted that this tradition has become a firmly rooted practice that brings joy to the hearts of all Egyptians.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Pope Tawadros explained that through this annual visit, Sisi is keen on extending Christmas and New Year greetings to Egyptians from the cathedral itself, reflecting the deep-rooted authenticity of the Egyptian state. He stressed that the visit underscores the wisdom of the political leadership, which cares for all citizens and shares with them their religious, national, and public occasions in a sincere expression of national unity.
The Pope asserted that national unity remains a top priority, urging all Egyptians to work and think together and to place the interests of the nation above any personal considerations or gains. He asserted that Egypt, as a society of more than 100 million citizens, requires the combined efforts of all its people to achieve prosperity, well-being, and happiness.
