Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reviewed the progress of development projects underway in Cairo in coordination with the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, during a meeting attended by Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, and senior officials.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting tackled redevelopment works in several areas, including Sayeda Aisha, Sayeda Nafisa, and Imam Al-Shafi'i. They also reviewed the dismantling of the Sayeda Aisha bridge, road works along Salah Salem Street, relocation plans for the Sayeda Aisha bus station and Souq Al-Hamam market, and compensation procedures for residents and businesses affected by removals near Sayeda Aisha Mosque. Out of 122 affected families, 117 have received compensation.
The meeting also addressed restoration efforts in Historic Cairo, including maintenance of the Aqueduct of Cairo, the Abbasid Wall, and several historic mosques, as well as works around Al-Hussein area and Souq Al-Khayamiya. Additionally, they reviewed progress on the Salah Salem alternative road project, bridge upgrades, pedestrian tunnel rehabilitation, and improvements to public utilities as part of broader plans to enhance infrastructure and services in central Cairo.
