Cairo: Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy received Tunisia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti at the AL headquarters. The meeting focused on issues related to joint Arab action and coordination between the pan-Arab organization's General Secretariat and Tunisia over the coming period.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the official spokesperson for the AL Secretary-General stated that the meeting centered on Tunisia's priorities as it assumes the rotating presidency of the AL Council at the ministerial level during the Council's 166th ordinary session. The focus was on fostering close coordination between the presidency and the Secretariat to enhance consultations among Arab countries, support consensus-building efforts, and address regional challenges collectively and effectively.

Fahmy acknowledged Tunisia's significant role in joint Arab efforts and its longstanding contributions to the League and its institutions. He also noted Tunisia's hosting of numerous joint Arab institutions and organizations, along with the support and facilities provided to enable their operations.

Discussions included strategies to maximize the Arab institutional presence in Tunisia, strengthen the Arab League's center in the country, and improve coordination between the center and other Arab organizations operating in Tunisia. The goal is to boost the effectiveness of joint Arab institutions and fully utilize their capabilities and expertise.

Fahmy and the Tunisian minister also shared perspectives on current Arab issues and developments, emphasizing the importance of sustained Arab consultation and coordination to confront regional challenges. They highlighted the need to bolster a unified Arab stance and reinforce the Arab League's role as a unifying framework for Arab countries.
