Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed during a meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, with Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raji Egypt's steadfast support for Lebanon's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Egypt also called for an end to all Israeli attacks, the withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories, and the full and non-selective implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 166th session of the Council of the Arab League, addressed bilateral relations and political and security developments in Lebanon and the region.

Abdelatty also reaffirmed Egypt's support for Lebanese state institutions, particularly the Lebanese Army, to enable them to extend state authority over the entire country. The two ministers also discussed ways to support Lebanon's political and economic stability.

Abdelatty stressed Egypt's readiness to continue supporting Lebanon, underscoring the importance of concerted Arab and international efforts to safeguard its security and stability and prevent it from sliding into a new cycle of regional escalation.
