Luxor: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli toured the Luxor International Medical Complex during a visit to the governorate to review development and service projects and follow up on the rollout of the Universal Health Insurance Project.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the tour, the head of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) Ahmed el Sobky said that the complex serves as a main referral center for advanced and complex cases in Upper Egypt after adding specialized services such as burn care, open-heart surgery, bronchoscopy, gastrointestinal oncology endoscopy, bone deformity surgeries, and bone marrow transplantation.
The Prime Minister was briefed that the first phase of a four-stage development plan has been fully completed, covering emergency services, inpatient wards, intensive care units, incubators, and endoscopy units, with the remaining phases nearing completion.
Additionally, Madbouli toured several departments and patient rooms and asked about staffing for major procedures, noting the involvement of specialized teams from Cairo University, Ain Shams University, and Assiut University hospitals.
It is noteworthy that the complex has a capacity of 373 inpatient beds, 57 intensive care beds, 26 neonatal incubators, 13 operating rooms, and 22 dialysis beds, along with MRI and CT scanners. More than 1.6 million medical services have been provided and nearly 33,000 surgeries performed.
