Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Jawhar Nabil held a video conference on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, with Head of the Egyptian Athletics Federation Hatem Fouda, the technical, medical and administrative staff of the national youth team, and Egyptian athlete Asil Osama to congratulate them on Asil's gold-medal victory in the javelin throw at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon, US.According to State Information Service Egypt, during the call, the minister congratulated Asil and praised her performance at the championships, which culminated in her winning the world title. The Egyptian athlete secured the title with a throw of 59.82 meters.Nabil also congratulated Fouda, the federation's board of directors, and the technical, medical and administrative teams, saying the achievement reflected the efforts made to prepare Egyptian athletes to compete at the highest international level.Nabil said Asil's world title was another addition to Egypt's sporting achievements and demonstrated that the c ountry has a strong pool of talented athletes capable of winning titles at both the continental and global levels.
