Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced the formation of a crisis committee to oversee the implications of the Iranian-Israeli military operations, with the aim of boosting readiness across key sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the committee, led by Prime Minister Madbouly, will include the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt and several key ministers, such as those from the ministries of industry, planning, economic development and international cooperation, electricity and renewable energy, finance, supply and internal trade, and petroleum and mineral resources.
Representatives from the defense and interior ministries, the General Intelligence Service, and the Administrative Control Authority are also part of the committee. The Cabinet Spokesman, Mohamed el Homsany, noted that the prime minister will conduct regular meetings with the committee to address the repercussions of the ongoing military developments and their effects on different sectors.
In addition to the main committee, Prime Minister Madbouly is increasing his consultations with various advisory committees to thoroughly assess the fallout from the military actions and to ensure that the country remains prepared for any potential escalation.
