Manila: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his visit to Manila to participate in the Ministerial Meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the meeting, Abdelatty conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to President Marcos, affirming Egypt's pride in the steady progress of bilateral relations, particularly as the two countries celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the Philippines this year.

The minister also stressed Egypt's interest in further strengthening economic and trade cooperation and encouraging the business communities in both countries to capitalize on the promising investment opportunities available in each nation.

Meanwhile, President Marcos expressed his country's pride in the close ties between Egypt and the Philippines and its commitment to continuing joint efforts to elevate bilateral cooperation across various fields. He also praised Egypt's pivotal role in supporting security and stability in the Middle East, as well as its efforts to contain regional crises.
