Doha: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha on Saturday, July 25, 2026, following his participation in the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers assessed Egypt-Qatar relations and confirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors. This initiative aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The dialogue also encompassed regional developments, emphasizing the need to reduce tensions and continue diplomatic efforts to manage the current crisis. Both ministers advocated for renewed negotiations, the implementation of commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding, and the resumption of talks between the United States and Iran.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, highlighting the importance of implementing US President Donald Trump's peace plan. The focus was on completing the commitments of the first phase and progressing to the second phase.
