Manila: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty signed an agreement allowing the immediate entry of five Egyptian agricultural products into the Philippine market, including grapes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and carrots. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 10th round of the Egypt-Philippines political consultations mechanism, held for the first time at the level of the two countries' foreign ministers since the mechanism was established.According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers affirmed that the agreement marks an important step toward strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and reflects the beginning of a new phase of partnership in the field of food security. They noted that it will help boost bilateral trade and advance shared economic interests.Further discussions highlighted ongoing coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to complete the procedures for the e ntry of Egyptian potato exports into the Philippine market, in cooperation with the Egyptian embassy in Manila. The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Egyptian fertilizer exports, facilitating the registration of Egyptian pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements, and promoting exports of cotton fabrics and textiles, reflecting both sides' determination to expand economic cooperation and increase bilateral trade and investment.
