Resilience Despite All Difficulties" during an official event in Cairo. The event witnessed the participation of key figures, including Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women in Egypt, Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, and Diab Al-Louh, Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Cairo. Officials from the League of Arab States, along with representatives from diplomatic missions and international and regional organizations, were also in attendance.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi, Executive Director of the Women's Development Organization, emphasized that the report reflects the significant humanitarian and political challenges faced by Palestinian women. She highlighted their resilience as a pivotal element in Palestinian society, despite the adverse conditions they endure. Al-Shuaibi expressed gratitude towards Egypt and its President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for their support, which has empowered the organization. She also acknowledged the contributions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Secretary-General Hussein Ibrahim Taha, and the Saudi support led by Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah al-Matar. She praised the role of the Palestinian Ministry of Women's Affairs, headed by Mona al-Khalili, for providing essential data for the report.
Amal Ammar affirmed the steadfastness of Palestinian women in the face of war, noting their continued role in society despite challenges such as bombing and lack of services. She stressed that the Palestinian people's commitment to their identity and land remains strong. Ammar pointed out that the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Conference in October 2025 reinforced the international community's responsibility towards Palestinians and that the report underscores the suffering endured by Palestinian women under aggression.
Ammar further emphasized Egypt's efforts, led by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in opening humanitarian corridors, sending aid, and providing care for the injured. She commended the Egyptian Red Crescent's collaboration with the Palestinian Red Crescent in delivering relief under challenging circumstances. She reiterated the National Council for Women's dedication to supporting programs for the protection and empowerment of Palestinian women and girls, urging international participation in the reconstruction conference that Egypt will host soon. Ammar concluded by encouraging the Women's Development Organization and the Palestinian Ministry of Women's Affairs to develop practical empowerment programs for women during the early recovery phase.
In a recorded statement, Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs Mona al-Khalili highlighted the report's launch as a message that the Palestinian cause remains central to Arab and Islamic conscience. She noted the critical moment for Palestinians, with aggression targeting humanity, dignity, and the future, and emphasized that Palestinian women symbolize resilience and hope amidst adversity.
Al-Khalili stated that the report aligns with the emergency plan and the Palestinian government's program focusing on relief, rapid recovery, and reconstruction. She stressed the importance of including women in all stages of reconstruction and state-building, ensuring a comprehensive recovery for Palestinian women, including female prisoners, widows, orphans, women with disabilities, and those without caregivers.
Al-Khalili called for international protection for Palestinian women and girls from Israeli aggression, urging accountability for crimes committed against them. She noted that women and girls in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem are the majority of victims of the ongoing conflict, with the Palestinian cause facing critical challenges due to settlement and displacement policies.
Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's support for the Women's Development Organization, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to empowering women. He stressed that empowering Palestinian women is essential in supporting Palestinian society, as their resilience is key to preserving identity.
Ambassador Diab Al-Louh highlighted the enduring challenges faced by Palestinian women under Israeli occupation, including personal losses and denial of rights. He emphasized their continued role in education, work, and social resistance, portraying them as symbols of patience, resilience, and determination. Al-Louh noted the indispensable contributions of Palestinian women throughout the national struggle, standing alongside men in various fields and forming the backbone of the community's resilience and institution-building.
