FM Meets Egyptian Medical Delegation Returning from Tanzania, Kenya

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Thursday June 18, 2026 with the Egyptian medical delegation that recently visited Tanzania and Kenya as part of Egypt's efforts to support healthcare cooperation with African nations and strengthen partnerships in the medical and health sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty emphasized that the healthcare sector is one of the most important areas of cooperation with fellow African countries, praising the tangible achievements of the Egyptian medical mission in Kenya and Tanzania. The delegation provided medical examinations for large numbers of citizens, performed numerous surgical operations in a range of advanced medical fields, and delivered shipments of medications and medical supplies to support the healthcare systems in both countries.

These efforts, he noted, reflect Egypt's commitment to making a meaningful contribution to enhancing healthcare services across Africa and promoting continental integration in the health sector. The Foreign Minister also stressed Egypt's continued support for health initiatives for African countries, which contribute to strengthening health security across the continent and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to African citizens.

The Foreign Minister listened to a presentation by members of the delegation on the outcome of their visit and the meetings they held with officials and medical personnel in both countries. Discussions covered ways to enhance cooperation between Egyptian and African medical institutions and to benefit from Egyptian expertise in healthcare, training, capacity building, and various medical specialties.
