Rabat: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty highlighted the potential for Egyptian companies to take part in infrastructure projects in Morocco, in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup. During a meeting with Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour in Rabat, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of the recent Egyptian-Moroccan Business Forum held in Cairo.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty stressed Egypt's commitment to strengthening economic partnerships with Morocco and capitalizing on opportunities in both markets and neighboring regions. He expressed a keen interest in developing bilateral relations across various fields and highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance trade and investment through reciprocal visits between officials from both countries.
Abdelatty outlined the significance of achieving economic, commercial, and industrial integration that benefits both nations. He referred to an agreement made during the Egyptian minister of investment and foreign trade's visit to Morocco in February 2025, aiming to facilitate trade exchange and investment access. The minister reviewed the progress of Egypt's economy and identified opportunities to boost economic and trade cooperation, increase bilateral trade volume, and support investments between the two countries.
He also discussed existing trade frameworks and agreements and the potential for targeting neighboring African markets together. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of convening the Joint Trade Committee in Cairo in 2025 to address trade issues and promote Egyptian participation in international exhibitions and forums in Morocco to foster investment opportunities.
Furthermore, Abdelatty affirmed the interest in exploring cooperation between Egyptian and Moroccan ports in logistics transport to enhance trade flows between the two nations.
