Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Jerusalem in Amman to discuss bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty praised the strong and longstanding partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation through more high-level visits, regular political consultations, and the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council.

He also highlighted the need for deeper economic cooperation in areas such as transport, maritime connectivity, logistics, storage, and energy. Abdelatty suggested building on the outcomes of the First Egypt-Gulf Trade and Investment Forum to increase trade and joint investments.

The two ministers exchanged views on regional issues involving Iran, efforts to reduce regional tensions, and the situation in the Gaza Strip. They underscored the importance of continued Arab and Islamic coordination and renewed diplomatic efforts to encourage Israel to fulfill its commitments under the agreed roadmap, which is intended to pave the way for the second phase of US President Donald Trump's comprehensive peace plan.

The meeting further addressed developments in the Red Sea, Sudan, and Yemen, with both ministers stressing the necessity of continued coordination to support regional security and stability.
