Cairo: The Ministry of Health and Population has dispatched a medical convoy along with emergency supplies to Sudan, as announced by the ministry. The convoy, which includes doctors from several specialized fields, as well as medicines and medical equipment, was sent in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, and other relevant agencies.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that Egypt, in collaboration with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, has delivered approximately 1.5 tons of medicines and medical supplies to Sudan as urgent assistance. This aid aims to support Sudan's health sector and alleviate current health pressures, Abdel Ghaffar added.
The medical team is set to commence its work on Saturday, December 20. The assistance package also includes the delivery of 200 filled oxygen cylinders to Sudan's Northern State, with support directed through the city of Port Sudan, the ministry further noted.
