Cairo: Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir announced that the Arab Bridge Maritime Company achieved its highest-ever annual profits in 2025, reaching $32 million. The announcement was made during the 87th general assembly meeting of the company, which coincided with its 40th anniversary.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the company transported 317,000 passengers in 2025, marking a 26% increase compared to the 251,000 passengers it transported in 2024. The meeting, chaired by Wazir, reviewed the company's activities and key achievements in 2025 and approved its financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.
The gathering was attended by Jordanian Minister of Transport Nidal al Qatamin, Iraqi representatives, and senior Egyptian maritime officials, including the deputy minister for maritime transport. Wazir emphasized the company's significant role in facilitating the transportation of Egyptian exports through its maritime fleet to various countries, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, and Gulf nations. Additionally, the company plays a crucial role in enhancing passenger movement between these countries and Egypt.
Wazir highlighted Egypt's commitment to bolstering Arab trade through its ports, particularly noting the strategic connection between the Port of Aqaba and Nuweiba Port, which links to Mediterranean ports and global markets. He further mentioned that the company's future investment projects align with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to position Egypt as a regional hub for transport, logistics, and transit trade, as well as a center for ship maintenance and yacht tourism.
The minister described the Arab Bridge Maritime Company as a key economic driver for both Nuweiba and Aqaba and a cornerstone of Arab economic integration.
