Cairo: The 1st International Conference on the Sustainable Livestock Development is set to commence on Monday, July 20, 2026, under the auspices of Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk. The event, orchestrated by the Agricultural Research Center (ARC), will take place at the Regional Center for Food and Feed (RCFF).
According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference aims to unite a notable assembly of experts and researchers from Egypt and other countries to deliberate on the latest scientific advancements and practical applications within the livestock development sector. The opening session will feature attendance by the agriculture minister and high-ranking officials from both agricultural and veterinary fields.
The conference's focus will be on merging scientific research with practical applications to bolster the development of Egypt's livestock sector. The inauguration will include the signing of several memoranda of understanding and cooperation protocols, alongside the launch of an exhibition connected to the conference.
Spanning three days, the conference will delve into strategies for sustainable development across the livestock, poultry, and fisheries sectors, through four key scientific sessions that emphasize the integration of research with practical execution.
The initial day's sessions will tackle the 'One Health' approach to managing diseases that affect both humans and animals. Additionally, discussions will cover investment opportunities and strategies to enhance production in arid regions amid climate change, utilizing biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
On the second day, the focus will shift to challenges in the poultry industry, health governance, and the implementation of smart, integrated aquaculture systems in desert locales.
The final day will highlight successful practical models and foster discussions on translating scientific research into tangible projects that can bolster food security. The scientific sessions will be conducted by a prominent group of experts and senior specialists from both Egypt and the international community.
