Cairo: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher attended the Military Technical College's Scientific Day, which featured the closing ceremony of the 10th Military Technical College International Competition, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Selim Award.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the competition included the 10th Unmanned Systems Competition (land, aerial, and maritime), the 6th Satellite Competition, and the fourth editions of the Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Competitions. The event also featured the announcement of the results of the 10th Military Technical College International Conference on Undergraduate Student Research and Innovation.
The event was attended by General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, commanders of the main service branches and senior Armed Forces officials, a number of ministers, military attach©s, university presidents, and public figures. The proceedings began with a speech by Major General El-Hussein Mostafa Sharaf, Director of the Military Technical College, who highlighted the Armed Forces General Command's unwavering support for the college's research and technological system.
He said this support aims to prepare graduates capable of innovation and of keeping pace with rapid scientific advances through the adoption of the latest technological systems. A documentary showcased the Military Technical College's most notable scientific activities during the 2025/2026 academic year.
The college's Senior Instructor subsequently announced the results of the competitions, the best research papers presented at the 10th Military Technical College International Conference on undergraduate student research and innovation, and the academic achievements of faculty members who earned scientific degrees and academic titles during the 2025/2026 training year.
Zaher honored the outstanding teams participating in the competitions, faculty members who received academic titles, and distinguished postgraduate students. The Commander-in-Chief also toured the accompanying scientific exhibition, where he viewed a selection of outstanding graduation projects by students from the Military Technical College and engineering faculties at Egyptian and international universities, as well as research projects presented by faculty members.
He expressed his appreciation for the participants' high scientific standards and their efforts to maximize the benefits of rapid scientific and technological progress. He urged participants to continue expanding their knowledge and pursuing innovative scientific solutions that contribute to overcoming challenges facing society across various fields, stressing that science remains the cornerstone of the development and advancement of nations.
