Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gawhar Nabil inaugurated the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup for men and women, which Egypt is hosting from April 3rd to 6th. The opening ceremony saw the attendance of prominent figures including President of the International Gymnastics Federation Mr. Morinari Watanabe, President of the Egyptian and African Gymnastics Federations Dr. Ehab Amin, and other notable dignitaries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Gawhar Nabil emphasized Egypt’s exemplary security and stability, highlighting its capability to organize major international championships efficiently, with strong support from the political leadership. He noted the participation of 33 countries as a testament to the international community’s confidence in Egypt’s organizational prowess and advanced sports infrastructure.
The Minister expressed his hopes for success for all participating delegations and motivated the national team players to strive for commendable performances. He remarked that hosting the championship, with backing from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, sends a clear message that Egypt is a secure and prime destination for major international sporting events.
In his address, Mr. Morinari Watanabe praised Egypt’s organization and hospitality, affirming its status as a leading host for international gymnastics championships due to its outstanding facilities and organizational expertise. He expressed confidence in Egypt’s ability to host major events and noted that the championship is a successful model of international cooperation in the sport’s development.
Dr. Ehab Amin expressed gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for supporting Egyptian sports, contributing significantly to advancements in gymnastics. He extended his best wishes to all championship participants.
