Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with Egyptian Ambassador to Tanzania Rania Abdel Meguid to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in healthcare, exchange expertise, and build human capacities between the two countries.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister affirmed the strength of the longstanding friendly relations between Egypt and Tanzania, highlighting the countries' rich history of cooperation. Health Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar noted that the meeting focused on enhancing pharmaceutical cooperation and exchanging expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing technology.

The discussions also included cooperation on medical missions and training, with plans to host Tanzanian doctors and nursing teams for training and clinical residencies at Egyptian hospitals. This initiative aims to advance healthcare systems in both countries.

Additionally, the meeting explored the potential for cooperation in medical tourism by receiving Tanzanian patients for medical care at Egyptian hospitals. This could pave the way for joint healthcare investment opportunities.

The meeting was attended by the minister's advisor for foreign health relations, Mohamed Gad, and the Director of the Ministry's Foreign Health Relations Department, Susan Zanaty.
