Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday affirmed the vital role of the Egyptian police in safeguarding the nation and its citizens from various risks and threats. His remarks were made during the 74th-anniversary celebration of Police Day at the Police Academy headquarters.
According to State Information Service Egypt, President Sisi emphasized that the police force is comprised of individuals from all regions of Egypt, dedicated to maintaining the country's security. He addressed potential misconceptions, clarifying that the police's efforts are aimed at protecting the state and its people rather than any particular regime. He highlighted the ongoing challenges that Egypt faces, which require continued vigilance.
President Sisi also paid tribute to Egypt's martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifices and reaching out to their families, even those of heroes from the 1948 war. He announced an initiative, in collaboration with the Martyrs' Fund, the Central Bank of Egypt, Egyptian banks, and the National Insurance Company, to support the families and children of these martyrs, reinforcing that Egypt honors its fallen heroes.
During the celebration, the president addressed the broader global context, noting the current conflicts over land, resources, and influence, as well as ideological and economic clashes. Despite these challenges, Sisi assured that Egypt remains a bastion of security and stability, owing to the efforts of its armed forces, police, and state institutions, along with the awareness of its citizens.
Sisi reiterated Egypt's commitment to its historic regional and international roles, maintaining its principles of peace, development, and prosperity while opposing violence and the exploitation of others' resources.
