Cairo: 'The Ministry of Health has launched a comprehensive plan to protect residents and visitors in coastal areas during the summer season as tourist traffic and beach visits increase,' Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said on Saturday, August 8, 2026.According to State Information Service Egypt, the plan focuses on prevention alongside hospital preparedness, including boosting emergency capacity, deploying mobile clinics near popular destinations, and stepping up inspections of food outlets in coordination with the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA).Authorities are monitoring drinking water and swimming pools, controlling disease-carrying pests, and raising awareness of heat-related health risks and direct sun exposure, the spokesman said.The ministry has provided around 13,232 free medical services to nearly 5.3 million people in coastal cities.It has also deployed 17 fully equipped mobile clinics across seven governorates, offering medical examinations, first aid, and em ergency services to residents and visitors.
