Hurghada: As part of the Red Sea Governorate's National Day celebrations, Governor Amr Hanafi opened several service projects in Hurghada, including a regional blood bank and a new residential complex.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the new Regional Blood Bank, located in the Al-Ahiaa District of northern Hurghada, was established with community support from the Mostaqbal Watan (Nation's Future) Party. The facility comprises four main sections, one of which is a donation department equipped with four stationary and five mobile donation units, as highlighted by Rasha Adel, the Director of Therapeutic Medicine and Head of Hurghada Blood Bank, during the opening ceremony.
The blood bank also features a serological testing department utilizing advanced Chemiluminescence and Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) to screen for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Syphilis, Adel noted. Additionally, the facility includes a blood derivatives department with specialized centrifuges and rapid freezing equipment for blood component separation and a distribution department for conducting blood typing and cross-matching to ensure safe and effective transfusion for patients.
In terms of urban development and housing, the governor inaugurated the "Al-Taqwa" residential project, which encompasses seven buildings with 116 housing units and 26 commercial stores. During the ceremony, the governor distributed contracts to eligible beneficiaries as part of the governorate's urban development plan.
To further enhance accessibility, a new beach dedicated to People of Determination was opened along the Corniche. Governor Hanafi emphasized that these projects reflect the governorate's commitment to upgrading the healthcare system and significantly improving citizens' daily lives. He was joined by several governorate executives during the inauguration.
