Doha: Dr. Mustafa Madbouli, Prime Minister of Egypt, met with the Association of Qatari Businessmen, led by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, during his participation in the inaugural summit of the Global Alliance to Combat Hunger and Poverty in Doha. The meeting underscored the strengthening ties between Egypt and Qatar and explored avenues for increased economic collaboration.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Walid El-Feki, Egypt's Ambassador to Qatar, also attended the meeting. Prime Minister Madbouli expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership between the two nations, highlighting Egypt's commitment to deepening cooperation with Qatar in various sectors. He discussed recent improvements in Egypt's economic landscape, a result of the country's economic reform program, and efforts to create a conducive investment environment.
Dr. Madbouli shared optimistic government forecasts that predict a decrease in Egypt's inflation rate to approximately 8% next year, down from the current 12%. He emphasized the Egyptian government's dedication to resolving investment-related challenges and invited Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Egypt. The Prime Minister assured his readiness to engage with investors to facilitate investment proposals.
The Qatari businessmen expressed their congratulations to Egypt on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. They acknowledged the ongoing communication with the Egyptian Embassy in Doha and expressed interest in the facilities and incentives available to foreign and Arab investors.
During the discussion, Dr. Madbouli highlighted Egypt's comprehensive development efforts and presidential initiatives aimed at enhancing growth, including the 'Housing for All Egyptians' initiative. He also hinted at a forthcoming investment deal between the two countries, aligning with the leaderships' directives to implement joint investment projects.
