President Sisi Rejects Parallel Entities, Emphasizes National Unity at Police Day Ceremony

Cairo: On the occasion of Police Day, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underscored Egypt's steadfast refusal to permit the creation of any entities functioning outside state control.

According to State Information Service Egypt, President Sisi emphasized that national institutions are vital for the stability, security, and protection of the state during his speech at the 74th Police Day anniversary held at the Police Academy in New Cairo.

President Sisi criticized the strategy of some countries that attempt to build militias for specific tasks, warning that such actions often lead to national collapse and destruction. He highlighted the importance of empowering and educating youth to confront technological challenges and misinformation, pointing out that young individuals who were very young during the events of 2011 may not fully understand their consequences.

He stressed that safeguarding the state involves more than just security measures, requiring the collaborative efforts of institutions like the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Armed Forces, and educational and religious entities. Sisi called for initiatives to educate the youth on the sacrifices made for national protection, including involving families of martyrs to share their experiences.

Sisi warned that any instability has long-term costs and emphasized the necessity of preventive measures through media, educational institutions, and households. He reaffirmed Egypt's opposition to attempts to divide regional nations, seize territories, or establish militias that undermine legitimate institutions. The president stressed that national unity is Egypt's strongest defense and called for equal citizenship without distinction.

Addressing extremism, Sisi stated that it would find no place in Egypt, stressing the importance of integrity and responsibility among citizens of all faiths. He condemned violence following the 2011 events, emphasizing Egypt's openness and the importance of the people's voice in shaping the country's future.

Sisi also focused on economic reform, private sector expansion, and improving living standards, asserting that reforming state institutions requires patience and careful planning. He called for honest self-assessment across all state sectors to improve efficiency and quality.

He concluded by congratulating the police for their role in maintaining security and upholding the law, reinforcing that reform is a shared responsibility requiring determination and sustained effort.
