Sisi: Sharm Agreement Living Testimony to Egypt’s Efforts to Establish Peace

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stated that the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip serves as living proof of Egypt's efforts, in coordination with its partners, to establish peace and stability.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a celebration marking the 74th anniversary of Egypt's Police Day, Sisi emphasized Egypt's commitment to fully implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement and thwarting any attempts to undermine it. He highlighted the significant efforts by US President Donald Trump in reaching this agreement.

The President reiterated Egypt's call for the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. He stressed the importance of fully implementing the second phase of the agreement and initiating reconstruction efforts to make the Gaza Strip viable for a dignified life.

Sisi underscored the need to halt practices against Palestinians in the occupied territories and reiterated Egypt's firm rejection of any attempts to displace them from their homeland. He warned against the potential displacement of nearly 2.5 million Palestinians, which could lead to forced migration to Europe and Western countries, with severe security, economic, and social repercussions.

Sisi affirmed Egypt's ongoing regional and international role, asserting the country's position in rejecting violence, advocating peace, promoting development and prosperity, and opposing the seizure of resources. He also highlighted Egypt's rejection of attempts to divide countries in the region.

Earlier, Sisi attended the celebration of Egypt's Police Day at the Police Academy in New Cairo, with senior state officials in attendance.
