Nairobi: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Republic of Chad, Idriss D©by, on the sidelines of the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi. The meeting, held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, aimed at fortifying the bilateral relations between Egypt and Chad.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions concentrated on enhancing collaboration across political, economic, trade, and developmental sectors. President El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s dedication to nurturing these ties, emphasizing the historical bonds shared by the two nations and their mutual development aspirations. He highlighted the importance of building on the positive outcomes from the Joint Committee meetings held in Cairo in November 2025.
President D©by expressed gratitude for the strong relations with Egypt and showed enthusiasm for deepening cooperation, especially in trade, investment, and infrastructure development. He also praised the ongoing partnership with Egypt in the healthcare sector.
The dialogue between the two leaders extended to regional issues of mutual concern. President El-Sisi stressed the importance of maintaining the integrity of national institutions in the region and enhancing their capacities to address existing challenges. Both presidents deliberated on peaceful resolutions to regional crises, aiming to uphold state sovereignty and protect regional resources and the welfare of their populations.
