President El-Sisi and Madagascar President Discuss Bilateral Cooperation at Africa-France Summit


Nairobi: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Republic of Madagascar, Michael Randrianirina, on the sidelines of the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi. The two leaders engaged in discussions aiming to enhance the bilateral relations between Egypt and Madagascar, focusing on various priority sectors.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the spokesman for the Presidency, stated that President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s readiness to support Madagascar in its efforts towards sustainable development. The discussions between the two Presidents explored opportunities for joint cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, health, and human development.



President Randrianirina expressed his appreciation for the longstanding relations with Egypt. He emphasized Madagascar’s commitment to strengthening coordination with Egypt in various fields to achieve shared developmental goals. The mutual respect and cooperation between the two nations were highlighted as key to fostering closer ties.



In addition to bilateral relations, the meeting addressed regional issues of mutual interest. Both Presidents agreed on the necessity of strengthening consultations between their countries to tackle challenges facing the African continent. This collaboration is seen as a contribution to fostering peace, security, stability, and development, aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and the African Union Agenda 2063, which provide a strategic vision for comprehensive development across Africa.
