This conversation was part of their ongoing commitment to maintaining continuous coordination and consultations on these matters.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday, September 6, 2026, that the two ministers exchanged assessments of regional issues and efforts to contain the escalation and restore calm. They emphasized the significance of resuming the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 18, 2026, between the United States and Iran. Both parties aim to reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement that would enhance regional security and stability and prevent the conflict from spreading further.

Furthermore, the ministers agreed on the necessity of maintaining close consultations and coordination in the coming period. They plan to do so both bilaterally and through the four-party regional mechanism, supporting joint efforts to promote security and stability in the region.
