Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Advisor to the President for Urban Planning, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, and Executive Director of the "Egypt's Future" Authority for Sustainable Development, Colonel Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on the progress of projects under the "Future of Egypt" Sustainable Development Authority. These projects encompass construction work and activities in agriculture, industry, livestock, urban development, and job creation, facilitated through partnerships with the private sector.
Colonel Dr. El-Ghannam presented efforts to expand agriculture in the "New Delta" region and detailed projects in southern Egypt and the Future of Egypt Industrial City. He also discussed the Authority's collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade to develop the Commodity Exchange and other initiatives. Efforts to secure strategic commodities and enhance storage capacity for essential goods were also reviewed.
President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of strengthening private sector partnerships and attracting foreign investments to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic commodities. He directed support for projects with strategic importance, such as the grain and cereal storage silos project, and reiterated the state's plan to expand agricultural areas, increase production, and develop the agri-manufacturing system.
The meeting reviewed the "Future of Egypt" Authority's role in urban development, including the establishment of the Eco-Friendly City, developed in cooperation with major real estate developers to enhance environmental and climate investment.
President El-Sisi highlighted the significance of the "Future of Egypt" Authority's projects as central to the state's sustainable development goals across economic, social, and environmental sectors. He stressed the importance of adhering to project timelines for completion and implementation.
