These meetings were held during the fourth session of the Egyptian-Chadian Joint Committee in N'Djamena, aligning with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's vision to foster economic and developmental ties with African nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Wazir and Goukouni examined collaboration opportunities in various transport sectors, aiming to enhance Chad's transport infrastructure, facilitate trade, and strengthen integration between the two countries. Key discussion points included the development of logistics zones in N'Djamena and Oum Hadjer to optimize trade routes and improve cargo handling.
The talks also delved into enhancing technical cooperation in railways, focusing on creating rail links to seaports via Cameroon, which would bolster Chad's export and import capabilities. Wazir underscored the necessity of conducting economic feasibility studies for these projects to ensure sustainability and developmental benefits.
Urban transport cooperation was another focal point, with Chad seeking Egyptian private-sector investment to upgrade N'Djamena's system and connectivity with adjacent urban areas. Wazir appreciated the ongoing cooperation in road safety and expressed Egypt's readiness to share expertise across transport sectors, consistent with President Sisi's directives.
Idriss acknowledged the robust Egyptian-Chadian relationship and expressed Chad's interest in leveraging Egyptian expertise for infrastructure and transport projects.
