Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the opening of the "Local Administration Reform and Empowerment Forum: Lessons from the UELDP Experience" in the New Administrative Capital. This event aims to celebrate the achievements made and to discuss future steps in reforming and empowering local government systems. The forum brings together government and private sector partners to improve governance and enhance the quality of local services.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the event began with a documentary film showcasing seven years of work in the Upper Egypt governorates of Qena, Sohag, Assuit, and Minya. These areas have seen significant transformation from inadequate infrastructure and industrial zones to integrated projects with high occupancy rates. The transformation has created thousands of jobs, increased citizen satisfaction, and improved the investment climate.
The documentary highlighted that more than 396,000 job opportunities were created, and 12,000 small and medium-sized projects received support. Additionally, over 8.3 million citizens benefited from improved roads, with the cost of infrastructure projects in these governorates amounting to EGP 32 billion.
