Military Production Minister Emphasizes Investment and Partnership to Boost National Industry

Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa affirmed the ministry's commitment to attracting more investments and forming new cooperative partnerships with various entities in the country. This aligns with the ministry's strategy, which emphasizes localizing modern manufacturing technologies and continuously developing production lines within the ministry's affiliated companies to operate with the latest manufacturing methods. This approach aims to improve quality, boost productivity, and add value to the national economy. This statement came during a surprise inspection tour by the minister to the Helwan Non-Ferrous Industries Company (Factory 63), where he checked on the progress of work and followed up on the latest developments concerning the ongoing projects.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister inspected the production lines at the company (Factory 63) and listened to a briefing by Engineer Mohamed el Ashmawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Helwan Non-Ferrous Industries Company, and the company's staff. The briefing covered data and information about the production rates and performance during the previous period, inventory levels, maintenance operations, industrial security procedures, adherence to timelines for completing ongoing projects, and the measures being taken to implement the company's development plans.

During the tour, the minister listened to the suggestions and requests from the company's employees regarding the production process. He encouraged them to put in more effort, stressing that human resources play a vital role in the continuous development of the military production sector and supporting the national industry as a whole. The minister directed the team to work on creating a conducive work environment that would improve performance and strengthen the vital role the company plays in supporting the national economy.

He emphasized the need to attract more investments, highlighting the significant attention and support the industrial sector is receiving from the political leadership during this time, which faces global challenges requiring increased efforts to address their impacts and achieve the country's comprehensive and sustainable development goals. Additionally, the minister issued directives to ensure the optimal use of available resources and assets, implement quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, adopt governance principles, rationalize expenses, and strive to increase productivity. He also emphasized the importance of sticking to project deadlines while ensuring that all employees follow industrial safety gear and occupational health and safety regulations to protect their well-being while performing their tasks.

It is worth noting that Helwan Non-Ferrous Industries Company (Factory 63) is one of the most important industrial entities affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production. The company produces semi-finished materials that are processed according to specific requirements, aiming to reduce imports of such items from abroad. These include various copper and aluminum alloys used in the production of ammunition cartridges. The company also manufactures sheets, strips, wires, bars, profiles, and pipes made from copper and aluminum alloys, which are used in the manufacture of small, medium, and heavy ammunition. Additionally, the company utilizes excess production capacity to meet the civilian sector's demand for low-voltage air conductors made from aluminum, aluminum steel, and copper. The company also manufactures low-voltage cables insulated with PVC and XLPE material.
