PM Madbouly Attends GAHAR Forum to Mark Six Years of Universal Health Insurance

Cairo: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly participated in the opening of the 6th annual forum of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Regulation in Egypt (GAHAR) in the New Administrative Capital. The event, held under the theme "From Vision to Expansion... Elevating Healthcare to Global Standards," marks the 6th anniversary of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's launch of the Universal Health Insurance (UHI) system in Port Said.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the opening ceremony was attended by several ministers, governors, and Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, the Minister of Health of South Africa, who participated as the Guest of Honor. The forum attracted former health ministers, senior officials, ambassadors, heads of health organizations and unions, media representatives, private and civil sector partners, and healthcare experts from Arab nations and around the world.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized that the advancements in Egypt's health sector are the result of President Sisi's vision and commitment to prioritizing citizen health. The forum included a documentary titled "Film of Hope," showcasing cases from UHI governorates, highlighting the advanced capabilities of the authority's hospitals, and the quality care provided to citizens. The event also featured a song titled "Azama Ala Azama" (Greatness upon Greatness) celebrating the achievements in the UHI system.

Madbouly recognized several healthcare role models and success partners, awarding winners of the forum's annual competition and excellence awards for their contributions to health system development and service enhancement. This year's forum reviews the authority's six-year achievements, the successful completion of the first UHI phase in six governorates, and future expectations for the second phase.

The two-day forum includes intensive workshops, interactive, and training sessions aimed at developing medical, administrative, and health teams' skills, enhancing their capabilities in managing advanced health systems. The workshops also provide a platform for exchanging international experiences and reviewing global best practices in healthcare provision.
