Guangzhou: The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), in collaboration with the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA), is actively participating in the 21st China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, from September 3 to 6, 2026. The event is organized by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the opening ceremony was graced by distinguished officials, including Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs Khaled Milad, the Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Office in Beijing, Zhang Guoqing, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Meng Fanli, Governor of Guangdong Province, and Li Lecheng, Minister of Industry and Information Technology. The fair is a platform for numerous Chinese and international companies, marking its significance as a major event for small and medium enterprises.
MSMEDA CEO Mustafa Hassan emphasized the importance of the agency's presence in the Egyptian pavilion, highlighting the opportunity to display the diverse products offered by small and medium enterprises. This participation aims to forge new connections with global companies and investors. Hassan also noted that MSMEDA clients at the fair span various productive sectors, including food products, clothing, handicrafts, and traditional crafts.
Moreover, the agency has facilitated the participation of enterprise owners from multiple Egyptian governorates such as Cairo, Sohag, Fayoum, Matrouh, Ismailia, Gharbia, and Menoufia. The MSMEDA CEO commended the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade for its collaboration, especially in conjunction with the EECA, to enhance marketing efforts for enterprise owners in international markets.
Hassan further stated that CISMEF offers a critical platform for supporting small and medium enterprises, enabling them to expand and access foreign markets. The fair provides opportunities for bilateral meetings, forming new partnerships, and understanding international market demands and emerging trends in production, manufacturing, and trade.
The China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF), held annually in Guangzhou, has been a prominent event for the small and medium enterprise sector. Over its previous 20 editions, the fair has attracted around 56,000 exhibitors from over 30 countries and welcomed 4 million visitors.
