PM Follows Up on Real Estate Export Strategy, Digital Property Platform

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the government is moving forward with implementing recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Urban Development and Real Estate Export, highlighting the strategic importance of the sector.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in New Alamein City, Madbouly stated that Egypt aims to simplify property acquisition procedures for foreigners and streamline real estate registration processes. The government also plans to promote Egyptian property abroad through its embassies and consulates worldwide.

Cabinet spokesman Mohamed El-Homsany revealed that the meeting reviewed progress on launching a digital platform for real estate exports. This includes coordination with relevant agencies, addressing technical aspects, and establishing regulatory frameworks to ensure the platform's effectiveness.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reported that it has successfully issued property identification numbers for over 18 million residential units across the country. Meanwhile, the Justice Ministry is working on preparing legal frameworks necessary for issuing ownership and transaction certificates to facilitate the new system.

The digital platform's pilot phase is slated to launch in September 2025 in New Alamein City, with an expansion planned for Sheikh Zayed City by December 2025. A nationwide rollout is expected by mid-2026, marking a significant step in modernizing the real estate export sector.

Officials stated that the platform will feature listings from both public and private developers. It will also include a digital registry designed to facilitate ownership transfers and enhance transparency within the real estate market.
