Cairo: The Ministry of Health's Medical Professions Development Sector has formalized a cooperation protocol with Cairo University Hospitals to enhance medical training and research across the nation. This initiative, announced on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, aligns with the country's Vision 2030 strategy, focusing on enhancing the skills of healthcare providers.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the pact was signed under the guidance of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar. It outlines a collaborative framework to develop and implement clinical and administrative training programs, while also advancing scientific research under the university's supervision.
The agreement aims to elevate clinical research standards at both the Ministry of Health and Qasr Al-Ainy Hospital, adhering to Cairo University's medical ethics and postgraduate guidelines. The Medical Professions Development Sector will evaluate training needs, manage scheduling, nominate trainees for conferences, and oversee implementation and evaluation throughout Egypt's governorates. Additionally, it will handle funding and performance monitoring, including the removal of trainees who do not meet the required standards.
Cairo University Hospitals are tasked with designing the curriculum, appointing qualified trainers at a ratio of one trainer to five trainees, conducting final evaluations, and providing monthly performance reports. This collaboration seeks to institutionalize high-quality training and enhance healthcare delivery across the country.
