Labor Minister: Egypt to Offer Needed Technical Support for Sudan’s Reconstruction

Cairo: Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad emphasized that Egypt will not withhold any form of technical support and expertise transfer to Sudan, particularly in vocational training, to prepare qualified human cadres for the labor market and support reconstruction efforts.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this statement was made during a meeting between Raddad and Sudanese Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Motassim Ahmed Saleh, held on the sidelines of the Arab Labor Organization board meetings in Cairo. The discussion centered on enhancing cooperation in labor and vocational training between the two nations.

Raddad highlighted Egypt’s extensive experience in employment training and expressed the country’s readiness to assist Sudan in developing its vocational training systems, including fixed centers and curricula. He also showcased the ministry’s mobile training units, which are designed to enhance the skills of youths across various governorates to meet the demands of the market.

The Sudanese minister, Motassim Ahmed Saleh, commended the Egyptian model, particularly the mobile units, and expressed interest in adopting similar expertise to qualify human cadres within Sudanese states. Both ministers agreed on the importance of activating memoranda of understanding that focus on labor training in high-demand sectors such as construction, food industries, livestock, and textiles. This collaboration aims to support development and reconstruction efforts, with both parties emphasizing the need for continuous coordination.
