Information Minister Diaa Rashwan Holds Strategic Meeting with Media Authority Heads to Foster Coordinated Efforts

Cairo: Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan convened a meeting with key figures from Egypt's media regulatory bodies to deliberate on strategies for joint cooperation and enhanced coordination in managing the country's media affairs. The meeting, held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, included Khaled Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation; Abdel Sadeq El-Shorbagy, Chairman of the National Press Authority; and Ahmed El-Moslemany, Chairman of the National Media Authority.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting participants collectively acknowledged President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to the newly formed government, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing public opinion and ensuring transparency through a national media that can effectively communicate with all segments of Egyptian society. This directive serves as a foundational work program for each entity involved.

The attendees also expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly for his dedication to the media's role in reinforcing Egyptian identity and promoting an enlightened culture. They noted the Prime Minister's guidance on maintaining continuous coordination between the Ministry and media authorities, ensuring a unified platform for discussing national issues while preserving the independence of these entities as enshrined in the Constitution.

The chairpersons of the media regulatory bodies extended their congratulations to Diaa Rashwan on his appointment as Minister of State for Information. They expressed confidence in his leadership, citing his extensive experience and the respect he garners within the media community as vital to the Ministry's success in meeting expectations.
