Cairo:The Grand Egyptian Museum has seen a remarkable influx of visitors, surpassing five million since its inauguration. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, highlighted this achievement, which underscores the museum's growing reputation as a leading cultural and tourist destination globally.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the museum has hosted approximately 60 official visits by presidents and kings from around the world, enhancing its international prestige. Ghoneim, speaking on MBC Misr's Al-Hekaya program, emphasized the museum's positive impact on increasing tourist arrivals in Egypt, noting the significant success marked by the strong visitor turnout in its first year.
Ghoneim pointed out challenges such as overcrowding due to the sharp rise in visitor numbers. The museum's management is actively working on organizing visitor flows and improving the public experience. Efforts are also underway to combat fake websites and address circulating rumors about the museum.
In celebration of its first anniversary, the Grand Egyptian Museum is launching "Eternal Sun," a unique light-art experience, on November 1 in the Grand Hall. This event marks the beginning of a series of celebrations that will continue until the end of the year.
