Ljubljana: Ministers of Foreign Affairs from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar engaged in extensive talks with Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, in Ljubljana.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions centered on enhancing regional and international security and stability, particularly focusing on the situation in the Gaza Strip. The ministers emphasized the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement and ensuring the entry of sustainable humanitarian aid into the region. They also discussed supporting the US-proposed peace plan.
The ministers highlighted the necessity of establishing a sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al Quds as its capital, aligning with the two-state solution. They also addressed developments in the occupied West Bank, urging the cessation of Israel's unilateral measures and violations at religious sites in Al Quds, which exacerbate tensions.
Additionally, the ministers expressed appreciation for Slovenia's support of Palestinian rights and its recognition of the Palestinian state. The conversation extended to regional issues, exploring diplomatic approaches to reduce tensions and addressing the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis.
