Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, rejecting the establishment of any parallel entities. The remarks were made during talks with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieldin Salem.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was part of ongoing consultations between Egypt and Sudan, emphasizing their strong historic ties and commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. Abdelatty highlighted the necessity of reaching a humanitarian truce to enable a sustainable ceasefire and the resumption of a political process. He called for ensuring humanitarian access to affected areas while respecting Sudanese sovereignty for any potential political settlement.
Abdelatty also underscored the importance of international efforts to support stability and end the conflict in Sudan. Salem, in turn, praised Egypt's support for Sudan and Cairo's position on Sudan's unity and stability. He discussed his government's efforts to address current challenges and confirmed Sudan's commitment to continued coordination with Egypt in the future.
