Malabo: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a meeting with representatives of leading private sector companies and members of the Chamber of Commerce in Malabo, at the Egyptian embassy, on the sidelines of his participation in the 47th ordinary session of the African Union Executive Council.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by members of Equatorial Guinea's business community, along with representatives from companies operating in infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, and logistics. Investors also expressed interest in the Egyptian market.The minister discussed Egypt's recent achievements, including monetary reform, a flexible exchange rate regime, a new investment law, and streamlined procedures for obtaining business licenses. He emphasized progress in social housing, infrastructure, and national road projects, focusing on investment and trade cooperation between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea.He highlighted Egypt's favorable investme nt climate and legislative framework, mentioning ongoing national projects in various sectors as opportunities for strategic partnerships with Equatorial Guinea.The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize a joint business forum, in collaboration with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce in Malabo, to establish communication between the business communities, explore joint investment opportunities, and promote bilateral trade.Abdelatty also conveyed Egypt's readiness to provide technical expertise and support in infrastructure, electricity, irrigation, and technical education through Egyptian companies experienced in large-scale projects across Africa.
