Cairo: As part of ongoing monitoring of the rapid developments in the region, a series of telephone calls took place between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates; Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman; and Asaad Al-Shibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Tameem Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the calls included an exchange of views on the successive developments and the current regional situation. The foreign ministers expressed deep concern over the dangerous military escalation in the region and its implications for regional peace and security, warning against the continued expansion of the conflict and the direct threat it poses to international peace and security.

During the calls, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's full support for the sisterly Arab states, stressing Egypt's firm rejection of any attacks targeting their territories, and rejecting any pretexts used to justify such attacks or undermine their sovereignty. He emphasized that Arab national security is indivisible.

The spokesperson added that the calls resulted in an agreement to continue close consultation and coordination in the coming period, intensify discussions on future arrangements in the region, and affirm the importance of a unified Arab position regarding these arrangements in a manner that safeguards Arab interests and resources and preserves the security and stability of the region's states and peoples.
