The summit brings together African heads of state and government to discuss ways of strengthening collective efforts amid evolving security developments and socio-economic pressures across the continent.

According to State Information Service Egypt, on behalf of the President, Abdelatty is scheduled to present a report on the AU Peace and Security Council's activities and the state of peace and security in Africa, in light of Egypt's presidency of the Council in February 2026. The report underscores ongoing efforts to track security developments.

In addition, Abdelatty will present the activities report of the Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), reflecting continued efforts to advance development projects and deepen economic integration across Africa.

The summit's agenda further includes strategic points related to sustainable development, institutional reform within the AU, the union's membership in the G20, efforts to fight diseases and epidemics, climate change, and reform of the UN Security Council, all aimed at strengthening regional integration and improving the AU's ability to effectively respond to current challenges and fulfill the hopes of African peoples for stability and prosperity.
