Finance Minister Declares Egypt’s Youth as Pioneers for Regional Digital Innovation Hub

Cairo: Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk expressed Egypt's confidence in the capabilities of its youth to turn the nation into a regional powerhouse for digital services and innovation. He emphasized the presence of skilled engineers, developers, and specialists, along with a thriving technological ecosystem and robust digital infrastructure that can bolster service exports.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister made these statements at the inauguration of Coca-Cola HBC's new digital services center in Cairo. During the event, Kouchouk engaged with young Egyptian innovators and participated in a symbolic penalty kick in support of a recreational game developed by the center's employees.

The center currently employs 250 young Egyptians who deliver advanced services in information technology, artificial intelligence, and software engineering. Kouchouk noted that these professionals are already catering to 27 markets, with aspirations to expand into an additional 14 markets across Africa.

Kouchouk lauded the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for forging advanced partnerships that enhance the private sector's competitiveness and support the growth of Egypt's technology industry. He highlighted the opening of the center as a pivotal move in boosting Egypt's digital services exports, pointing out that there are considerable investment opportunities to further increase the sector's contribution to the national economy.

The minister also remarked that the project signifies renewed confidence by international investors in the Egyptian economy and the potential of the country's young workforce. Kouchouk mentioned the government's goal to attract more high-quality investments driven by technology and innovation, aiming to create outstanding employment opportunities for Egyptian youth.
