Cairo: Egypt and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding on November 10, 2025, to exchange expertise in road management and development. The signing took place during the 6th Smart Transport, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Traffic for the Middle East and Africa (TransMEA '25).
According to State Information Service Egypt, the agreement connects Egypt's Ministry of Transport, represented by the National Institute of Transport, with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, represented by the Roads General Authority. The MoU is designed to promote collaboration in areas such as road planning, development, research, and technical training.
Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir emphasized that the partnership underscores the longstanding relationship between the two nations and their commitment to establishing new avenues of cooperation in the face of regional challenges. He remarked, "Egypt and Saudi Arabia. always together."
The memorandum is anticipated to enhance knowledge exchange, contribute to human resource development, and advance scientific research in road infrastructure. It will create opportunities for joint projects and professional skill development for specialists in both countries.
